BACKSTORY: My proud Englishman came to Hawaii for a vacation, met a hula dancer (younger me), and never left. To be honest, he always said I was his first love and soccer was his second… though with his jersey collection, I sometimes wondered.

He had 27 in his private collection, slowly diminishing as as fans purchase them here on ebay, one by one. They are vintage and rare jerseys collected between 1995–2009, some bought brand-new with tags, others found pre-loved from fellow collectors on eBay. They were acquired to be admired--never to be worn so sizes vary.

I like to imagine him smiling from Heaven as each jersey finds a new home with a soccer fan who will treasure it as much as he did.

This jersey was lovingly acquired online, piece by piece, and cherished by my husband over the decades—always meant to be admired, never worn.
